Shepco Development was founded by Matt Hageman, who has spent the last fifteen years working directly for and with private ranch owners in Texas and surrounding states. After graduating from Tarleton State University in 2007, Matt managed a ranch south of Athens, Texas. Over the next five years, Matt’s hard work ethic was paired with the sharp vision of the ranch owner, a businessman from New York. The two men found creative ways to convert raw East Texas real estate into a functional cattle ranch that provided endless recreation for family and guests. 

He then was employed by a prominent private lake management company based in Texas where he was the Sales Manager for the next four years, which is when he realized how poorly designed and constructed many lakes were in Texas and surrounding states. This discovery led him to help start and manage a construction company to properly build private lakes. After five years of private lake design and construction, Matt founded Shepco Development which provides design and turnkey ranch development. 

Matt has successfully controlled hundreds of acres of water by creating lakes and reservoirs and has developed thousands of acres of land in the years preceding Shepco. He’ll use his knowledge and experience, backed by honesty and determination, to provide the best services available. Matt is often called a “land artist” for his ability to create beautiful masterpieces – and he’ll do the same for you on your property!
